A murder case has been filed against Awami League (AL) president and former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, former minister Obaidul Quader and 99 others for killing a teacher during the anti-discrimination student movement that topped the Awami League government.
The case also included 350 more unidentified persons.
Sekandar Ali, father of deceased Selim Hossain (35), of village Palikanda of Pirob union under Sibganj upazila of Bogra, filed the case with Bogra Sadar Police station on Friday.
The case mentioned that the murder took place at the order of Sheikh Hasina and Obaidul Quader and other accused in the case who include two former Awami League lawmakers, five upazila chairmen, two mayors, eight councilors of Bogura municipality, 10 union parishad chairmen and 25 representatives.
According to the FIR of the case, a group of seven AL leaders, including two former AL MPs, on August 4 attacked the protesters on the Satmatha road at Bogura city around 3pm. The attackers hurled cocktails and petrol bombs which injured assistant teacher of Moon Light High School of Kahalu Upazila.
Later, the attackers also hacked him to death with sharp weapons.
About 650 people, including at least 32 children, were killed in the student movement from 16 July to 11 August, the United Nations Commission on Human Rights said on Friday.
